She has worked in both home and hospital settings, including waterbirth and VBAC. She is a mother of three, one born in hospital and two born at home.
"I am a mom to six wonderful children and Grammy to Mia, whom I had the honor to guide Earthside. I enjoy gardening, raising chickens, pigs, cooking and making tinctures, teas and bath blends with my herbs."
Jean has known from an early age that guiding and assisting women through pregnancy, childbirth & those early postpartum weeks was her calling. She has been a Certified Doula for several years and has assisted many families. After realizing that she wanted to provide more hands on care for women in the childbearing year she began her midwifery journey.
Jennifer and Jean have been attending births together since 2013. They have served families in the Capital District area as well as many Amish and Mennonite families in the surrounding areas. We pride ourselves on our very low transfer rate and C-Section rate.
Jen and Jean are both fierce advocates for perinatal mental health and for the LGBTQ+ community. We support the diversity of all families. 🏳️🌈
